Division Chief Ron Quinlan began his fire service career in 1985 as an Orange County Paid-Call Firefighter in Sunset Beach, CA. After attending the 65th Santa Ana College Fire Academy, he became a Reserve Firefighter for the City of Encinitas in 1987. Ron began his professional career in 1990 with San Miguel Fire & Rescue, where he spent time as a shift training officer, fire investigator, and SCBA program manager.
Before entering the fire service, Ron spent six summers making rescues at Huntington State Beach and driving an ambulance in the off-season for Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Newport Beach, and Huntington Beach fire departments.
Ron is married with two children, one of whom is currently pursuing a career in the fire service.
