Welcome to the hub for all things related to San Miguel Fire & Rescue’s Explorer Program.

The Explorer Program is designed for individuals ages 16–20 (with at least 8th grade completed) who are interested in pursuing a career in the fire service.

Applicants are encouraged to learn about San Miguel Fire & Rescue and the communities we serve. We recommend exploring our website and reviewing resources such as the Annual Report. If you plan to apply, please take time to study this material, as your knowledge may be evaluated during the recruitment process.

If selected to become an Explorer, you must commit to:

- Attend 2 training drills per month (3 hours each)

- Participant in 1 shift ride-along (24 hours) with an engine or truck company each month

- Maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher
